What are solar panels made of?

Solar panels are mostly made of silicon, a special material that converts sunlight into electricity. They use thin silicon wafers or cells. There are two types of silicon used: monocrystalline and polycrystalline. Monocrystalline panels have one crystal, while polycrystalline panels have multiple crystals.

Apart from silicon, solar panels also have other parts like a protective glass cover, an insulation layer, and a backing for support. These parts make the panels strong and efficient and able to withstand the elements.

The survey and design

First, we check if your property is suitable for a solar panel installation. We look at things like the direction and angle of your roof, if there’s shade, and if the structure can handle the panels. Once we know it’s a good fit, we create a custom solar system just for you. We calculate out how many panels you need and where to put them to make the most energy.  If you are considering having a system without batteries, it can still be upgraded at a later date if your energy needs change.

Installation process

On the installation day, the solar panels will be put on the roof or another suitable spot using special mounts and securely fixed. Then, we install the inverter, which is important because it changes the electricity made by the panels so it can power your appliances. After that, we connect the system to your property’s electrical system with the help of a certified electrician. We do safety checks and inspections to follow all the rules and make sure the system works safely and efficiently. This approach guarantees that the system operates safely, efficiently, and adheres to all necessary requirements.
